Behind The Scenes of Tegan Marie’s Elvis-Inspired Music Video
We finally get to go behind the scenes of Tegan Marie’s music video ‘I Know How To Make a Boy Cry’ in a new three-part video series. The music video was inspired by the 1968 Comeback Special which aired on NBC. The special is considered a ‘comeback’ because this was Elvis Presley’s first major television appearance after serving in the U.S. military.
In the behind the scenes video below Tegan Marie shares how she came up with the idea to honor Elvis saying that she had just finished watching a documentary about ‘The King’ when it became obvious that was the direction everyone wanted to go. It was important to Tegan and her management to stay true to what Tegan calls the ‘songwriters circle’ vibe from the 68 special and of course the iconic name in lights. Check out part one below:
Tegan Marie Releases Elvis Inspired Music Video For ‘I Know How To Make a Boy Cry’
Tegan Marie has dropped the music video for her latest single ‘I Know How To Make a Boy Cry’. The rising country superstar took inspiration from the one and only Elvis Presley for the video which honors the popular 1968 special Elvis Presley did for NBC simply referred to as the ’68 Comeback Special.
After returning from service in the military Elvis was looking for something to get his career back on track. The idea was for a television special which was a combination of both acoustic and elaborate musical sets. In her new music video, Tegan Marie pays tribute to the first half of the 68 special and even features her name in big red letters very similar to what was seen at the end of the Elvis special which has since become iconic.
Elvis Presley passed away on August 16, 1977
