It looks like Disney CEO Bob Iger is aware of ESPN’s overlay political nature. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Iger admitted that the sports network has become focused on politics and less on sports and that there has been a great deal of discussion about what ESPN should be focused on.
“There’s been a big debate about whether ESPN should be focused more on what happens on the field of sport than what happens in terms of where sports is societally or politically,” Iger said. He went on to say that the network is working to put the focus back on sports.
