If you’re an Avril Lavigne fan then today is a fantastic day. In 2014 it was revealed that the singer-songwriter had been battling a severe case of Lyme disease, leaving many fans uncertain of what would happen next.
Recently in an open letter on her website Avril recalls a time early in her diagnoses where she felt that she was at death’s door, she didn’t want to die and had more to live for she cried out to God and thus Head Above Water was born.
God keep my head above water. Don’t let me drown it gets harder, I’ll meet you there at the alter as I fall down to my knees.
This lyric is particular talks about her salvation and finding God in one of her darkest moments.
The whole song is truly an Anthem for people who have ever felt hopeless and alone. Reminding all of us that God will always meet us where we are.
We here at Trevor Decker News are extremely happy that Lavigne chose this song as her return track because nothing is better then glorifying our Lord and Savior.
If you haven’t heard head above water you can view the official lyric video below:
Head Above Water is now available on all streaming services. All proceeds to the song will go directly to the Avril Lavigne Foundation, a foundation that aids people battling with Lyme disease.
