Let’s be honest here as big of a streaming service Netflix is, it’s usually a hit or miss when it comes to finding a good movie or the latest binge worthy shows.

Unless  you’ve been living under a rock for the last month then you’ve probably heard of the show Stranger Things. It’s a sci-fi thriller set in the 80’s that follows three best friends on their journey to find their fourth amigo Will who mysteriously went missing on a night out.

If you were born in the 80’s and love conspiracy theories then this show is for you. Hell even if you’re not a 80’s baby we will put good money on the fact that this show will win you over. I mean seriously who doesn’t like iconic films like The Goonies, Stand by Me and ET just to name a few. If you love those then you’ll love this show. Not to mention the soundtrack is killer.

The first thing that drew us into the show even way before its premier date was of course the return of legendary Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice anyone?) However we quickly learned that this show is so much more then that. I mean seriously everyone involved is absolutely amazing. You’ve got Finn Wolfhand (Mike) who’s the boy with the big heart who will do anything for his friends. Gaten Mattarazzo (Dustin) who’s character is the genius disguised as the dumb kid. Caleb McLaughlin who plays Lucas the kid who has a hard time trusting people causing him to act like a jerk.

Even the small roles add so much to this show. Charlie Heaton who plays Jonathan Byers captures the misunderstood soul perfectly. Natalia Dyer plays Nancy, a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve but is often to naive for her own good.  Joe Keery plays the role of Steve. On the outside he looks like your typical jock bad boy but clearly that’s a front and he actually isn’t so bad. The unsung hero of this show is David Harbour who plays officer Jim Hopper. He’s the kind of cop you want on your side when crazy shit goes down. He knows this isn’t your average disappearance and even if everyone thinks he’s crazy he sticks to his guns.

The star of this show though without any donut is Millie Bobby Brown who plays 11 or as Mike would say El for short. Her portrayal of 11 is nothing short of Oscar worthy AND SHE HARDLY TALKS. If there was ever a perfect time to use the expression “if looks could kill” this would be it.

11 is the next big female heroin. Move over Katniss Everdeen. I mean seriously people are already cosplaying as her. 11 makes you want to shave your head and go on a strict Eggo only diet. (Watch the show and you’ll understand that reference.

The on screen chemistry between Millie (11) and Finn (Mike) is absolutely palpable and it reminds you of what true friendships are made of. Seriously we dare you to watch this show and not fall in love with that friendship or just 11 in general.

Although season one is only eight episodes long we promise you it’s eight hours well spent. Get all the caffeine you need. You won’t regret it. We spit shake on it.

If given a second season and if done right we truly do believe this show could be the next Orange is the new black or it least give it a run for its money in ratings. (Yep it’s that good.) I mean Stephen King praised it for crying out loud. What more do you need?

So if you haven’t started stranger things, then what are you waiting for? Go do it. Don’t be a mouth breather. However if you’re like us and have already finished this masterpiece then please tell us bellow in the comments what you love most about the show. Happy viewing.
