More than 12 million ITV viewers watched Beau reprise her powerful rendition of Defying Gravity from Wicked in her bid for the £250,000 cash prize and a spot on the Royal Variety Performance. In all, 12 acts battled it out last night in what was described as the most open final in the show’s ten-year history.
Former EastEnders star Brooke Kinsella, who is now Beau’s agent, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘We are already talking to West End producers. There are more and more musical theatre shows that use children and that will be a great route for Beau.’
But Beau’s music teacher at the independent Hammond School in Chester urged her not to let her new-found success interfere with her education.
‘I would certainly hope she continues with us because we think we are the right place for her. Moving away and touring the world I don’t feel would be suitable for her right now. ‘She is such a lovely girl who is so unassuming. If you didn’t know her, you’d think she was the sort of girl who wouldn’t want to get up and perform. But as soon as she is performing, she blossoms.’
