A Mad TV revival is coming!

One of the most popular late night comedy series is coming back and this time it’ll be in primetime.

The news comes from Deadline. The show has reportedly been picked up by the CW for an eight hour long episode premier run. The Emmy award winning series ended 9 years ago giving us 14 seasons filled with comedic gold.

Just like the original the show, the reboot will focus on pop culture parodies and politically incorrect humor. It is also being said that past cast members will be brought back to host the episodes. Those cast members have yet to be named.

David E. Salzman who was the original executive producer of the show will be back on bored for the revival and will also play the role of show runner. The announcement  comes off the heals of the CW airing a 20th anniversary special  of the show. The hour-long anniversary special drew a solid 1.7 million viewers and a 0.6 among adults 18-49 in Live+same day.

MadTv has always been one of those shows that stood the test of time and is enjoyed by all walks of life. We have no doubt that this revival will be a success, because after all who doesn’t like to laugh?
