Life is about living. It’s about creating moments with the people you love, experience things you never thought possible and holding them close to your heart for a lifetime. Last night 2/4/16 I was lucky enough to have one of those moments.

Lacey Sturm (formally of Flyleaf) is back for the first time in 4 years and this time it’s a solo career. Her new album Life Screams drops on Febuary 12th but for those in attendance last night at the Whisky a go go in Hollywood California they got to experience the beauty of the album early

In celebration of the new album the set list was mostly composed of the new tunes with a few Flyleaf songs as well. The show kicked off with perhaps the most powerful song on the record impossible and it closed with a Lacey’s beautiful rendition of Forever by Kari Jobe.

The crowd was singing along to every note all night long but the stand out moment for the show is when Lacey came back for an encore to a screaming crowd to preform the song she wrote about with her encounter with God (All around me) this sent the crowd into a mix of cheers and tears. A truly amazing moment you had to be there for in order to truly understand it.

This was followed up by a melody for the Flyleaf fans in attendance that included some of their biggest hits (so sick, Fully alive, and Call you out)

There’s something about the way Lacey owns the stage. It’s captivating, she makes you forget about all the heartache you may be going through even if it’s only for 90 mins. You better believe it though in those 90 mins nothing else matters.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’ve always looked at Lacey as an angel on earth. Someone who was called to do God’s work. I’ve personally been following her career for 11 years and in those 11 years her music whether it be in Flyleaf or in her solo career has helped me through some of my darkest moments.

It was an absolute privilege to be able to represent during this show. It was an honor to be able to meet someone like Lacey and to be able to tell her how much she truly means to me. I am blessed to have been able to experience this moment with some of my closest friends and it’s one I’ll never forget.

Last night was nothing short of life changing and I look forward to what’s next on the horizon not only for Lacey but myself as well.
