Faith Continues To Play Major Role In This Season Of NBC’s “The Voice”

NOTE: This article is 6 years old and may not include the most recent information.

From contemporary hits like “Jesus Take The Wheel”, to traditional southern gospel hymns like “In The Garden” – The Christian faith continues to be in the spotlight almost weekly. For his top 12 performance, Jordan Smith went the spiritual route selecting to perform the traditional hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”.

As mentioned in previous coverage this season – The growing use of inspirational songs in the singing competition shouldn’t come as a shock to those who follow the work of show producer Mark Burnett and his wife Roma Downey. The Hollywood power-couple are the leaders of a resurgence of faith-based movies and television series. With tv miniseries including  History Channel’s “The Bible” and NBC’s “A.D. The Bible Continues”. Along with such feature films as “Son of God” and most recently “Woodlawn”. With a remake of the motion picture “Ben-Hur” set to be released next year as well.
