In 2012 Lacey Sturm stepped down as lead vocalist of the Christian rock group Flyleaf after being with them for 10 years. Lacey left the band to focus on life outside of music such as being a wife to her husband Josh and a mother to her two boys Jack and Arrow.
It’s been three years and ever since then she’s kept a low profile with the exception of the release of her memior The Reason: How I discovered a life worth living that was released last year. Fans of the singer have been eagerly awaiting for new music and now the wait is finally over.
On Sunday the first single Impossible from Sturm’s new band Lacey was released exclusively on Sirus XM’s Octane radio. The song will be played throughout the week on Octane every three hours and will be available on Spotify, ITunes and Amazon music November 6th
“I was listening to the radio one day and I said to myself if I hear one more song telling people to kill themselves or to go to hell I’m going to have to put a record out. I think it’ll be good to have a voice of hope among everything else that’s going on. It’s important for people to hear it from someone who still struggles and in a real honest way” says Lacey about the decision to make new music
It was announced that Lacey’s new album Life Screams will be due out early 2016.
