Throwback Thursday: When Bindi Irwin Made America Cry
Bindi Irwin returned to ABC’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ earlier this week as a guest and even tried out co-hosting. Bindi was the fan favorite and champion last season and is still remembered for her emotional dance routine during the finals. This performance remains the show’s most popular moment of all it’s 22 seasons. We can see why!
The dance was a tribute to her father, Steve Irwin who died tragically from a stingray attack in 2006. The routine ended with a photo of Bindi with her father appearing at the end of the dance floor which her dance partner had arranged as a surprise for Bindi. This sent Bindi and everyone else into tears. Including the judges and host Tom Bergeron, who had just recently lost his father earlier in the season.
