WWE’s Bayley and Sasha Banks To Make History

Published

on

It was announced on Thursday that newly crowned NXT women’s champion Bayley will defend her title against Sasha Banks in a 30 minute ironman match in the main event at the next NXT takeover special airing October 7th on the WWE NETWORK.

This will be the first ever ironman match featuring women in the history of WWE. For those unfamiliar with how ironman matches work the competitor with the most pinfall or submission victories at the end of the 30 minute mark will be declared the winner of the match.

If you watched Bayley vs Sasha Banks from NXT takeover Brooklyn you know that their next encounter will be one for the ages especially with a time frame of 30 mins!

For those of you who may not be familiar with professional wrestling, it has always been a male dominated sport. That’s not to say we’re never had female stand outs but it’s always been a constant fight for the women to prove they belong.

At one point women within WWE were lucky enough if they got a two minute match. Up intil recently the women of the WWE were used either as eye candy, comedic relief or just managers to the male talent.

Today though thanks to the inception of NXT and the start of the Divas Revolution women within the world of professional wrestling are finally getting the recognition they so richly deserve.

If you are someone who has never watched a wrestling match let me assure you that Bayley vs Sasha Banks on October 7th will be one you would want to check out
